The Pastor
Get to know the man who shepherds, preaches, and walks alongside the family at GCC.
Andy Messick, Ph.D.
"I believe the whole gospel, from Adam and Eve to the final trumpet, should resonate through our hearts and passions, and transform our minds."
Andy’s research centers on the Old Testament prophetic literature, particularly the book of Isaiah. His doctoral dissertation at Columbia International University explores the role of Zion, the mountain of God, which he sees as the climax of Old Testament theology: the place where the Lord dwells with his people and where the nations stream to learn his ways (Isa. 2:2–3).
He has also done extensive research in the Psalms, where Zion is celebrated as “the joy of all the earth” (Ps. 48:2). Following that theme through Scripture shows where the whole story is heading, and it shapes how Andy preaches, teaches, and shepherds the family at GCC.
Need to meet?
In an attempt to cut down on the number of people who swing by to see if I’m available, I’m making my schedule readily available here. Sometimes I’m not available to meet for several reasons: I may be at a prior ministry appointment, out on visitation, or writing sermons and Bible studies.
I prefer to plan ahead, so please click the link below and find a time that fits you. If you don’t see the availability you’d like, drop me an email. I’m looking forward to it!
