Artist’s Corner
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”Gandalf, in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring

Scripture never treats art as mere decoration. God filled Bezalel with His Spirit to craft the tabernacle, and He adorned it with beauty that served no practical purpose at all except to be beautiful.

Because Christ is Lord of the whole of life, art is not a lesser calling, and it is not only a tool for evangelism. As Francis Schaeffer argued in Art and the Bible, a work of art has value in itself. An honest poem of lament, a well-made song, or a faithful painting of a field can glorify God simply by being true to the world He made: broken by sin, yet still shot through with His glory, and waiting for its redemption.

Artist's Corner exists to honor that calling. We want to encourage excellence, honesty, and worship in every medium, and to remind every maker that in God's Kingdom there are no little people and no little gifts.

“He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship.”Exodus 35:31
